In Which North Tries To Reassure South

Saturday, July 30, 2016
Also known as, "Don't worry. Does that sound reassuring enough for you?"

Previously, in this series, South visits North in the Spring Mansion. They talk and we find out that there is a problem as West and East are having what North calls a Lover’s Quarrel.

According to South, this is a very serious problem though and isn’t something that must be taken lightly. But what exactly is going on? What’s the cause of all this? Why are the 2 fighting?

Let’s see what else North and South have to say regarding this matter:

“So, then, you’ve heard about the rising tensions in some of the Eastern and Western Kingdoms near the Visible Demarcation Line?” South asks.

North nods. “How could I not, my dear? It’s all over the media, not that that makes it easier to understand what is really going on or what is really happening.”

“Yeah, that’s the problem.” South sighs. “Argh, I swear, there are so many different sides to this story that I can’t even tell anymore what is real and what isn’t. How can we know what the truth is, North? It’s all so confusing. Ugh.”

“Don’t worry, South.” North tries to sound reassuring, even smiling at the other Superhero. “We’ll get to the bottom of this.”

An Explosive Lover’s Quarrel

Wednesday, July 27, 2016
Also known as, "A new saga begins".

Wondering where North and South were and why they weren’t around when the Evil Enemy showed up? Eh, the two advice you to forget that and move on. We have a new saga to catch your attention now and this one promises to be quite explosive, to say the least.

“North,” South exclaims upon entering the room and spotting the northern Superhero. “There you are. Ugh, why weren’t you answering your phone? I’ve been meaning to talk to you. Seriously, this is very important,” South says with a glare at the Superhero in question.

North is busy reading a newspaper, but readily looks up at South’s entrance. “Ah, hello, my dear South. Welcome to my Spring Mansion. I would ask what brings you here, but I think I can already guess.” This was said with a smile.

South’s glare intensifies. “Ugh, this is not a joke, North. Stop playing around and don’t call me ‘dear.’”

“We have a problem,” South says in a worried tone of voice. “East and West are having one of what you’d call their Lover’s Quarrels again.

“And I know you don’t think that’s anything to be all concerned about and how you always say this happens all the time and there’s nothing new about it, but this time is different, I swear. I’m telling you, this is really-”

South is cut off as North speaks up. “A very serious problem that warrants our attention. Yes, I know, dear. I’ve been reading the newspapers and watching the news.”

South stares, looking surprised before sighing. If even North is worried about this latest argument between their fellow Superheroes, then you know that things are bad and are probably about to go from bad to worse.

What's Wrong With Cocoa?

Sunday, July 24, 2016
Also known as, "In which there is a lampshade hanging".

Oh, what, were you expecting a fight scene in the last post complete with copious descriptions of action and magic and powers and the like? Yeah, about that.

Well, East and West were so quick in defeating the Evil Enemy that there was no time to describe or explain anything. In all honesty, what happened couldn’t even be classified as a proper fight scene considering how one-sided it was.

The Superheroes (mostly West, really) would like to inform you not to worry because there’ll be more fights to come and those would be more worthy of descriptions.

In the meanwhile, let’s listen in on East and West as the two talk about the Evil Enemy for the last time before this particular saga draws to a close.

“Hah, that takes care of that. I knew that guy was totally no match for us. We’re ‘super special awesome’ Superheroes, East,” West crows in triumph.

East smiles and nods. “As you say, Cocoa. But I do have to wonder why he did not bother to attack us while we were busy talking and were more than a little bit distracted. He could have taken advantage of such an opportunity and perhaps been able to actually injure us, even just a little,” East points out.

West frowns. “East, don’t put a ‘lampshade hanging’ on the plot hole that isn’t a plot hole. For those wondering, that guy was totally incompetent, okay? He’s just a mook. Well, he might be able to pass off as an elite mook, maybe, but he’s totally still just a mook. So he totally didn’t even think about doing whatever East just said.”

“Ah, I thought you did not want me to break what you call the fourth wall? Is that not what you are now doing, Cocoa?” East asks with an amused smile.

“Yeah, I don’t. So, let’s stop doing it, okay? That conversation totally never happened. Uh-uh, didn’t happen, so erase it from your mind, m’kay? And don’t call me 'Cocoa,' East, uff.”

East And West Finally Take Care Of The Evil Enemy

Thursday, July 21, 2016
Also known as, "In which evil is finally defeated (wish it was as easy in real life?)"

Now that East and West have responded to the Evil Enemy’s words, it’s now time for them to defeat and get rid of said enemy.

superheroes series, writing, story, fantasy, adventure, sword art online, anime, light novel, manga, video game
“All right,” West says, “Come on, East. It’s time for the ‘super special awesome’ Superheroes to beat the bad guys ‘cause the good guys totally always win, always.”

East sighs though the look the eastern Superhero directs at West is fond and amused. The words aren’t refuted as East merely nods and even smiles.

West then proceeds to prove the truth of said statement (that the protagonists always win), in this instance at least, by thoroughly defeating the Evil Enemy and sending him back where he belongs or wherever he came from.

East helped, of course, though it was highly likely (read: most probably) that either of them could have easily taken on the Evil Enemy by themselves without needing any help at all. Needless to say, the Evil Enemy was no match for the Superheroes.

East’s Response To The Evil Enemy

Monday, July 18, 2016
Also known as, "Don't call me 'Darling'".

It’s finally East’s turn to give a response to the Evil Enemy’s words in previous posts. What does East have to say to the Evil Enemy? Let’s find out:

The eastern Superhero then turns to the Evil Enemy after addressing West, frowning and looking very menacing and intimidating, so much so that the Evil Enemy takes an involuntary step backwards.

Okay, it was more than 1 or 2, but, hey, who’s counting and the enemy would like you to know that you’d be taking a multitude of steps backwards too if you were ever faced with a scary and intimidating-looking East.

In fact, other people might be cowering or running away by now in the interest of self-preservation.

“Please do not interrupt when I am talking to my Darling,” East says, now smiling though it was chilling and cold and sent shivers down the Evil Enemy’s spine. “That is very impolite of you. I think it is time for you to say goodbye.”

“Is that right, Darling?” This one was directed at West as East turned to smile at said Superhero.

The contrast between that smile and the one directed at the enemy was so striking that anyone could see it.

West eagerly nodded, grinning happily at East. “Yup, totally right. Whatever you say, East. But don’t call me 'Darling'. Eww.”

“Very well."

West’s Response To The Evil Enemy

Friday, July 15, 2016
Also known as, "What, you're still here? Get lost already!"

Previously, in this series, the Evil Enemy finally had the chance to speak up and he made sure to give a very, in his own words, ‘riveting speech’.

But since he’s not one of the main characters, well, who cares about him or that, huh? Let’s get back to East and West who now react to the Evil Enemy’s words.

Well, let’s get started with West first. What, thought West would actually let East speak up first? Yeah, right. Like that’s ever gonna happen. Needless to say, West spoke up before East could do so.

West looks surprised upon hearing the Evil Enemy’s words. “Uff, you’re still here?” Apparently, the Superhero had pretty much forgotten all about said enemy.

“Get lost already. Evil people and bad guys and villains and antagonists are totally not welcome in The World, so go away. Leave. Scram.”

East smiles fondly at West upon hearing the latter’s words. “Those all mean pretty much the same thing, Darling.”

The Evil Enemy Gets A Chance To Shine

Tuesday, July 12, 2016
Also known as, "It's my turn to talk and you will listen".

The Evil Enemy has finally had enough of being ignored and insulted and talked about as if he isn’t there. Don’t you think that it’s about time that he finally decided to speak up and retaliate?

superheroes series, adventure, fantasy, story, writing, anime, fate/stay night, gilgamesh, archer, mousepad
“Now, about our plan-” East starts to say.

My plan,” West interjects, putting emphasis on ‘my’. “And it’s-”

East sighs. “I have told you already that I do not like your plan. We must have a new plan.”

“No way. I-”

“Hey, you 2,” the Evil Enemy loudly shouts, drawing attention to himself. “Just how long are you planning to argue and fight, huh? You’re just going around in circles. I’m still here, you know? Pay attention to me.” The last was said in almost an aggravated and frustrated whine. “Hah, do you actually think you can beat me?” the Evil Enemy asks. “Well, you’re both wrong. Even with you 2 working together, you’re no match for me.”

“Haha.” He laughs and he’d be the first to tell you that it was a very evil laugh and he advises you not to contest him on that unless you wish to, in his words, ‘suffer’.

“That’s because I’m evil, you hear me? Yeah, listen to me. I’ll beat you both up to a pulp.” The Evil Enemy crows. “Your incessant arguing is annoying me and wasting my time. As soon as I beat you and it won’t take long at all, I’ll get started on destroying The World.”

Well, it looks like the Evil Enemy really took advantage of his time to shine and his chance to be in the limelight for once. He went right on talking and didn’t give either East or West time to interject and interrupt his long, drawn-out speech.

Since When Is A Croissant An Insult?

Saturday, July 09, 2016
Also known as, "In which West wonders what a croissant is".

West now responds to East’s words in the previous post and the 2 have yet another discussion. Is this the reply that East is looking for?

“Uff, chill, East, okay? Our talk’s totally over now. You’re just supposed ta seat there or stand there or whatever, really, just stand back and watch me be awesome,” West says.

“That’s right, I, the ‘super special awesome’ Superhero will now take care of everything. I’ll beat the Evil Enemy. Yeah,” West crows, striking a pose. “Oh, and don’t call me 'Angel,' ‘kay? I don’t like it.”

“And I have just told you that I disagree with this plan of yours,” East says, sounding exasperated. “Do listen and pay attention, Croissant. How many times must I repeat this for your benefit?”

“Whoah, what was that? What did ya just call me, East? What is that, I don’t even-?” West sounds confused. “Uff, whatever that is, it’s been totally rejected, m’kay? I can’t even pronounce it, much less figure out what it’s supposed to be. For all I know, you could be insulting me. Are ya insulting me, East?” West pouts.

“Perish the thought. I would not do that. A croissant is-”

“I don’t care what it is. Just don’t call me that.”

“Very well.”

Who Likes Being Ignored?

Wednesday, July 06, 2016
Also known as, "In which East finally gets West's attention".

So, how do you think East manages to get West’s attention? Aren’t you also wondering just how patient East is? I mean, who wants to be ignored? Wouldn’t you say that East has been very patient for the last few posts?

superheroes series, fantasy, adventure, writing, story, anime, angels, wings
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like West noticed any of that at all.

Of course, the western Superhero is still busy talking or would it be better to say 'rambling' instead?

“... (By the way, that ellipsis means that West has been going on and on for, well, more than a while, that’s for sure) And then I- oww.” West stops talking for one short moment.

A hand reached up to clutch at an injured head. “East, what the?” West frowned. “Why’d you bop me on the head? That totally hurt. Uff, what’s up with you? You’re being horrible, like, totally.”

“I told you to pay attention to me, Angel. I do not like how you are ignoring me.” East does not look the least bit amused.

“Our discussion is not finished yet. You should pay attention when people are talking to you and trying to have a conversation with you. I am sure you would not like to be ignored as well when you are busy talking.”

In Which East Tries To Get West’s Attention

Sunday, July 03, 2016
Also known as, "Hey, pay attention to me and stop rambling".

What, did you actually think West was paying attention to East’s protests and objections? Said Superhero wants you to know that making awesome and heroic and cool plans totally takes up a lot of time and energy and that there’s still more great plans to come.

superheroes series, anime, fantasy, adventure, writing, story, angels, wings
Oh, wait, those plans are here now. Don’t worry, there’s no need to wait. The awesomeness is here.

West’s lack of attention doesn’t stop East from trying to get said attention anyway.

“Maybe I could use magic or my weapon maybe. But- nah, maybe I’ll just use my hands and my legs. I could use martial arts or my awesomely unique and totally cool fighting style.

"It doesn’t look like I’ll even need to use my awesome and totally cool superheroic powers though ‘cause the enemy looks so weak and easy to beat and I’m just that awesome and special and super, after all, so this is like just a piece of cake to me.”

Why, yes, West is rather an expert at rambling on, wouldn’t you say? Perhaps the Superhero can also be said to be an expert in the ‘Department of Redundancy Department’.

“Angel, I do not think that it is wise nor is it nice for you to ignore me, certainly not when I am talking to you. I request that you please pay attention though I know it might be hard for you to do so. Do not get distracted and just focus, all right? Angel? Are you listening to me, Angel?”
